Love the Feel of Brand New Contact Lenses?
You can have that feeling every day! Daily disposable contact lenses are ones that you put on in the morning and toss at the end of the day. They don't require any cleaning, storing, or solutions. You'll always have enough lenses to last you a full year so you don't have to stretch out wearing that last pair.

Right now, Bausch & Lomb's Soflens Daily Disposable contacts are on sale for $370 for a year's supply of lenses after a $70 mail-in rebate. That's about the price of a cup of coffee...and we're not even talking designer coffee!

Swimming Pool Safety
In previous columns we have talked about the need for sunblock for the skin around the eyes as well as ultraviolet filtering sunglasses, however, there is another very important safety precaution that should be considered when swimming. That is contact lens safety.
Many people use contact lenses in swimming pools, hot tubs, and lakes, but not many people know that this could lead to very serious and potentially blinding ocular infections. The organism that I am referring to is called Acanthamoeba. As its name implies, this organism is an amoeba that his commonly found in tap water, swimming pools, lakes, soil, air, and dust.

lenses to gently reshape the front surface of your eyes while you
sleep. Upon waking, you actually remove the lenses and go about your
day.

Using Soft Contact Lenses
When contact lenses are categorized based on the materials which they are made from, then you can probably divide them into three categories : hard ,soft and RGP contact lenses.
All of these contact lenses have their various advantages as well as disadvantages and the contact lenses a person uses depends on their own particular preferences and what they conditions they suffer from, if any.

Hard contact lenses are made from polymethyl methacrylate, otherwise referred to as PMMA or Perspex/Plexiglas. These hard contact lenses are often referred to as second generation contact lenses – first generation contact lenses were made from glass and which have now become virtually extinct. Hard contact lenses have the disadvantage of allowing no oxygen to permeate through to the cornea, thereby potentially causing a number of undesirable side effects which can affect the health of the eyes.
